Some of my Y-posse told me that they would never get in a chopper.
"I'm gonna keep my feet on the ground! TNo way would I ever fly over the Grand Canyon! Well I doubt that I would've either if my very brave & adventurous Dad wasn't up for it! (Yeah, he's 76 why not! :-) I'm so thankful that our Pilot was smoooooth. The ride was just like being in a car...just 1000' above the rim that was 4000' deeeeeep to the bottom of the Colorado River below. Yikes! The slide show above shows 10 pics from our flight! No, I didn't kiss the ground when we landed, but I thanked Jesus! :-)

Its no longer me living this life, but the Anointed ONE Jesus IS living HIS ZOE LIFE in and through me. This passage in Galations 2 really caught my breath today! (Paul wrote this about his own life and I also want to experience all of JESUS I can in this mortal body while on this earth, and not just wait for years to live this out in heaven sometime in the sweet by an by...)
14But when I saw that they were not maintaining a steady, straight course according to the Message, I spoke up to Peter in front of them all: "If you, a Jew, live like a non-Jew when you're not being observed by the watchdogs from Jerusalem, what right do you have to require non-Jews to conform to Jewish customs just to make a favorable impression on your old Jerusalem cronies?"
15-16We Jews know that we have no advantage of birth over "non-Jewish sinners." We know very well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. How do we know? We tried it?and we had the best system of rules the world has ever seen! Convinced that no human being can please God by self-improvement, we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not by trying to be good.
17-18 Have some of you noticed that we are not yet perfect? (No great surprise, right?) And are you ready to make the accusation that since people like me, who go through Christ in order to get things right with God, aren't perfectly virtuous, Christ must therefore be an accessory to sin? The accusation is frivolous. If I was "trying to be good," I would be rebuilding the same old barn that I tore down. I would be acting as a charlatan.
19-21What actually took place is this: I tried keeping rules and working my head off to please God, and it didn't work. So I quit being a "law man" so that I could be God's man. Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that.
Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer-pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God? I refuse to do that, to repudiate God's grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily.
Taken from "THE MESSAGE" version...which I'm coming to enjoy more everyday. Randall ;-)

When Dad & I were flying 1000' above the rim of the Grand Canyon I remember repeated, "The LORD is MY Shepherd...even in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..." probably more than once... hehee! (I really don't care for heights.) This cute little "Sweet Heart" does such a beautiful recitation of the 23rd Psalm on God Tube Video, I just had to add her to my YUWIE! ENJOY! :-) I remember seeing Barry McGuire in concert in 1975 touring with The 2nd Chapter of Acts. GREAT Concert! It was the first time I ever met a Happy Joyful Christian! I wanted whatever it was they had! And guess what it is still avaiable. Just ask me. Barry was wearing a t-shirt with a full moon on the front with a big smile! He said...Since Jesus is the Light of the World and like the SON gives
"As long as I keep on going I'll never know how much I can accomplish. As soon as I Quit, I'll have my answer." 53 years old Male Grandview, MO Hometown: Ewing, NE
I love LIFE...in all its variety and beauty! JESUS said, " I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of."
My picture above was taken in a Helicopter ready to lift off to fly 1000' above the rim of the Grand Canyon, AZ with my 76 year old Dad this summer, at his request. ( Really, I hope I'm as adventurous as my Dad is when I'm 25 years older! :-) We had a great family- trip and getting to know each other as friends. Hope you enjoy the new slide show of 10 pics from our flight! We were flying 5000' above the Colorado River gorge! Beautiful!! YUUUUUUUUUWIE! :-O
Sports:
Nebraska Corn Huskers. College Football.
Kansas City Chiefs Pro NFL team. Hey, I was born & raised in Nebraska, until we moved to KC, MO back in 1985...What do you expect? :-) I also played FB in HS as a Defensive Guard. Just loved to
get my hands on the QB and mess up his day! hehee! :-)
Music:
Radio Talk show "Coast to Coast AM" with George Noory, I'm a night owl.
When it's music, I enjoy David Crowder Band..."YOU MAKE EVERYTHING GLORIOUS!"
Chris Tomlin, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Twila Paris...Christian Rock & Worship is what I love.
Anything with a beat and great lyrics that build people up and not tear down. I also like show tunes and things that make you THINK! Amusements bore me. (Amuse is a Greek word = NO THINK)
What encourages you? Let's stop tearing down and build each other up! Another really prophetic song is "Rise Up" by Sherry & Tom Green...an excellent song writing duo! They have songs on youtube...and just as soon as I learn how to load them here, you will be hearing them!
Movies:
"Tucker, A Man and His Dream" Great True Story...how this entrepreneur and inventor decided to build a car for all the troops returning home from WW2! His Tucker Torpedo (saw one at the Smithsonian Exhibit that came to KC, MO was light years ahead of the Big 3 Car MFG's. They used their bribes ($$$) to get the U.S. Gov to shut him down (You simply gotta hear his final plea to the JURY in this Kangaroo court at the very end of the movie. The guy was a PROPHET! )
"The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" Disney got this one right on! The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis are the best 7 books written for Children and Adults who want to remain "Child-like". Disney is going to make 6 more movies from the CoN! I hope they do as well as this first one! GREAT JOB!
Walt would have been proud. I remember how he was so proud of Mary Poppins which was one of the best special effects in 1965 of it's time. I watched it at age 8 and snuck back in to see it again. My Mom gave me a spanking for disappearing and worrying her, as I didn't tell her I was going back in the theater to watch it again! ( Now a days there would have been a real ruckus! for her spanking me in public. )
TV:
Most anything Historical or Sci-Fi Channel: EUREKA, 4400, X-Files, Battlestar Galactica (2004)
I also like the History Channel and especially Dog Fight on Friday nights! And yes...Believe it or not...
The Weather Channel, Yep...'m a weather geek! NEXT time you get a Severe Storm Watch in your area, go to: ( weatherunderground dot com ) it is the greatest, I can scope out my own radar right over my town during KC, MO T-storms! I hope to someday chase Tornadoes in T- Alley!
Books:
The Bible 66 books, written by 40 different authors, over 1500 years, in 3 different languages, on 3 different continents. What’s more, this collection of books shares a common storyline- the creation, fall, and redemption of all mankind; a common theme- God’s universal love for all of humanity; and a common message- God was in Messiah Jeus reconciling the world to Himself. All who call upon the name of the LORD JESUS in faith and trusting His Work, will be saved. In addition to sharing these commonalities, these 66 books contain no historical errors or contradictions.
The Gospel of St. John is my total favorite, as Jesus is shown for who he really is there! John continues this unveiling in "The Revelation of Jesus the Messiah" as the Spirit led him into all truth. (Yes, Virginia, There is TRUTH!) I've been re-reading the NT book of Hebrews which helps me put the OT in its proper perspective. I also read one of the Psalms most every day, I get quiet and ask Jesus for the number He would have me read for the day. Wow! It is amazing how that works. I have found the Psalms to be some of the most REAL writing of anything I've ever read, because men wrote from the heart and shared it all, whether they were up or down.
Heroes/Idols:
Jesus inspires me. I love Him...because He first loved me. For what He went through for me, and what He goes through with me every day! Once you really get to know Him, you realize that being a Christian is 100% relationship...and not a ritual nor religion. Religion will kill you! Jesus gives LIFE in all it's abundance! I've never truly known Love, Joy or Peace outside of Jesus. (If that sounds corny to you, it might be that you have never experienced Him yet. Like I said, Religion gets in the way of LIFE!
(JUST ASK HIM, God / Jesus, if you are really there, I want to know you. Please reveal yourself and your love for me in a way I can't miss you...) :-)
Who else? My Mom, Betty. She graduated to HEAVEN on 12-27-06. I hope that I live out my trust in God as well as she did. She told me, "I know that I'm going to beat this (cancer) and win! God will heal me or He can take me HOME, and I'll be just fine either way! She never complained once "WHY ME?!" or all that kind of negative worry talk."
So what makes a hero to me is ANYONE who is persistent and never gives up and even endures hardship and never gives up until they see their dream realized! NEVER EVER QUITS! Many people have given up just feet from the finish line! We can make it! God is for, with, and in us now! :-)
