Love Is the Greatest
(1 Corinthians 13)
1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;[a] but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! 10 But when full understanding comes, these partial things will become useless.
11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
uhm..let me see....aLot of things... nowadays, i'm usually using the net to connect with my friends or make friends, and i do a lot of working in the hospital (because i'm a nurse)...if i'm not working, i'm usually out shopping or just hanging out with friends somewhere, dining out... singing karaoke, laughing.... quiet talks over a cup of coffee... giving encouragement to people who need it.... and just making other people laugh...
Music:
these days i'm usually listening to soft, rOmantic music... and those sOngs that make me reminisce about the gOod old days... i listen to sOme slow alternative also, but only those whose lyrics mean sOmething to me.
Movies:
my all-time favourite movie is "A Walk To Remember".... i've seen it so many times...and it's funny to say that i still cry every single time.. haha.. but anyway, there are a few other movies i loved too..like... "Click", and that movie with Reese Witherspoon in it..i can't recall the title.....
TV:
actually, i dOn't watch TV shows...i just watch DVDs on TV... but I think that "Grey's Anatomy" and "One Tree Hill" are TV shows..only i watch them on DVD.
Books:
oh i have lots of favorite boOks because i'm a very wide reader. Let me just sum it up into categories... i enjOy reading Christian books--those books inspired by God Himself-- and also Psychological boOks, informative boOks.... i think that's about it. and no to pocketbooks..haha.
Heroes/Idols:
I admire Jesus--for all that He is. and i admire people who exude a different kind of self-confidence...even though they're not gifted with a proportioned body... i admire them because they don't let their body size hinder them or lower their self-confidence. and i also admire people who know how to make good use of their time.... and those people who think only of the positive side of everything and any situation they are in.
