The popular music band Pink Floyd?s founding member named Roger Waters had experienced no qualms whatsoever regarding the issue of permission to a Canadian band that had wanted to rerelease Pink Floyd?s classic song titled "Another Brick in the Wall" for the purpose of being used as an anthem for the young Iranians.
This had been a Toronto-based music band that is named Blurred Vision and it is composed of two band members who are its front men. These are two exiled Iranian brothers who have re penned the lyrics so that they would be a better expression of the resentment that is felt by the young Iranian?s toward their government. In Iran it is not legal to make and play rock music.
Waters had revealed in an interview that he had been very encouraging towards these artists that they should use the respective song for resisting all kinds of oppression.
He gave another statement that the respective band in his view was playing a significant role in "the fight against the government that was not only repressive but also very brutal. What?s more Waters had also taken time out from the continuous rehearsals he had been a part of in order to talk about the aforementioned issue.
He had said that he had not only been pleased with but was also a firm supporter of the resistance of school children in South Africa who were falling victim to the repressive and the brutal regime and that he also applauded the efforts of all those who had been supporting the resistance of the Palestinian children in Gaza and also the West Bank. Biography:
T. L. Sura has had a love of music from a very young age. From piano lessons at the age of six to guitar lessons in his teenage years, he has written a vast number of songs and lyrics in many different styles and genres. As an adult he played bass for a rock band called The Fizz Lizards, a short-lived project that was quickly garnering a following in his native Sacramento, California, but then just as quickly disbanded. Though involved with a new project that emerged from his former band, T. L. continued to write and record his own material and in the fall of 2009, geared up to self-produce and publish a full-length album as part of an ongoing solo-project.
THY LAST SCREAM is that solo-project. It's debut album Still The Nightmare took four months to complete and was released in March, 2010. T. L. wrote all material and performed all instruments and vocals with exception to a couple of former band mates appearing as guest performers. Dark, moody and melodramatic, the music of Thy Last Scream expresses thought and emotion through various forms of direct, indirect and misdirected implication through numerous metaphors and imagery. It departs along a very profound and surreal path that closely mirrors a reality that is often faced while venturing into the darker side of the relationships that are willingly and unwillingly formed with those around you.

But people forget that the Music Business is a People Business, and no
matter the amount of broadband speed we may have it will never ever remove the need for face to face interaction. I?ll say it again; ?the Music Business to remain a People Business!?
The Local Independent Record Store is so strategic to the success of any artist/band because of the following reasons:
1. This is a place where the industry converges. It is the place the product creators, product promoters and product sellers meet. It is the place the industry comes to if anyone wants to get their music sold. Every player in the music business ascribe immense value to record stores.
2. It is the frontier of contact with the buyer. This is the place that the early adopters go to listen to and be informed about the latest music.
I have a saying that ?the record stores know best?. They know what the customers are buying. They know what the customers more than the singer does.
3. Most people in the stores have contacts within the industry. Because of the assembly of experts, creators and innovators gathered in one placed, they become a credible source of information. Therefore industry professionals such as like Label Managers, A&R personnel and DJs would much rather listen to their recommendation than to some CD randomly chucked on their desk.
Beside if a song is selling by the bucket load through the store it is an indication of great sales if signed by a record company. This risk reduction is very appealing to record companies!
4. Sales staffs are generally working within other areas of the
industry i.e. as DJ?s, promoters etc. The beauty of this is that staff in the stores can promote your record if they like it for no cost to you at all!
5. They are willing to help credible, creative artists! Most store owners are interested in music themselves and entered the business because of love. If they find a product interesting
they will also help to see it attain the position it deserves!
So start building a relationship with your local record store today and see your business change and your income increase! It is time to dispense with efforts that only produce a small result but rather we should follow tried and tested avenues that work!

Houston Band Raises Money For Pat Tillman Foundation
Lotus Effect, an alternative-progressive rock band from Houston, Texas, release their latest album "Rabbits & Royalty" with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Pablove Foundation (www.pablove.org) and The Pat Tillman Foundation (www.pattillmanfoundation.com).
The EP, produced by Mike Thompson of Ivory Tower Studios (Close Your Eyes - Victory Records, American Fangs - Indegoot Management) and mastered by Bob Boyd of Ambient Digital (Mutemath, Our Lady Peace), consists of five original songs that blend gritty alternative rock with complex progressive inclinations and melodically aggressive vocals.
Conceptually, "Rabbits & Royalty" draws from pop culture and classic lit, from the opener 'Warhol', inspired by Edie Sedgwick, a muse of Andy Warhol and cousin of Kyra Sedgwick, to 'Mercucio', a modern retelling of Romeo & Juliet. The album also touches on loss from the epic ballad 'Fireflies' which was written about the death of ex-NFL player Pat Tillman in Afghanistan.

Denham Reagh is recognised as one of Sydney's most respected Acoustic Rock bands since their inception in late 2006. Having been garnered with members from a collection of backgrounds, the band has been able to fuse various musical styles together to create their own unique sound.
The boys play a large collection of original songs and Bassist Gordon describes their music as “acoustic rock with a hint of pop... and a little something extra.” They like to write songs with meaningful lyrics, particularly things that focus on real life experiences and issues. One example of this is the song ‘On Your Own’ which focuses on the sad feelings one has when losing someone very close, a feeling many have experienced.
Bands that Denham Reagh have been heavily influenced by include Matchbox 20, John Mayer and the Goo Goo Dolls.
