It seems my comment to friends yesterday shows as an html error, so I am repeating it today.
Good morning. It is a beautiful winter (?) morning here in sunny Queensland, which is living up to its motto: āBeautiful one day, perfect the next.ā
Winter officially has another two weeks here, but apart from a couple of days when I wore a light cardy, we could be mistaken for thinking it was spring. I guess that means we are in for a steamy summer.
Whatever your weather, I hope you are enjoying your week and ready for a relaxing / achieving / challenging / fun / or whatever youāve planned weekend. Make sure that you do at least one thing for yourself this weekend. You deserve to be pampered, even if you have to do it yourself.
A thought for the week: When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. So live your life that when you die, you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
Good morning friends. Although I have popped in most days to respond to friendsā comments, messages, blogs etc I have not been able to send comments for some time. I have been working on a new project, not difficult but time consuming and demanding of full concentration. It is progressing well so Iām taking a break to greet my friends. Iāve missed the daily āchatā but I see many others have also been absent for some time.
We are in the last month of winter, but we have only had two days cold enough to wear more than a light cardy. I hope that doesnāt mean weāll have a hotter than usual summer! If so, I might decide to migrate south!
My thought for the day is from Albert Einstein: Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
My wish for the day: The discovery of a new ability and the joy of success - especially if after initial failure.
Dear Lord: Bless my friend today, and bring happiness, and joy into her life each and everyday. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. imikimi - Customize Your World!
Thursday 7.00am and all is well. The sun is shining on a beautiful mid-winter morning 22*C or 70*F. I canāt complain about that but I must admit Iāve been complaining (along with most friends) about the slowness of yuwie lately. My limited time here is spent waiting ⦠and waiting ⦠and waiting. This is reminiscent of two years ago in the early days of yuwie, when things were much, much worse, but then we were having so much FUN we tolerated it and joked about it.
So ⦠a couple of quotes from Mr Anonymous seem appropriate . . .
¶ Any fool can criticize condemn and complain - and most fools do ¶ It is the growling man who lives a dogās life
I wish for you, my friend, a happy day and happy days to come.
I spent a few happy hours with yuwie friends Barb & Paul and their lovely dog Poppy yesterday.
Poppy made herself at home and thought the sofa in my office was meant just for her.
The time passed too quickly. Next time, weāll plan a whole day of sightseeing and a picnic lunch, and when Lori and Joe are here from Canada we might be a bit more adventurous. Iām sure Lori would love to visit Snakes Down Under (but we wonāt tell her where we are going).
It is a bright, sunny, winter Saturday morning here in Australia with the temp at 22*C (70*F) and expected to rise.
A group of kookaburras burst into a chorus of laughter a few minutes ago. I wish I could send you their sound, but my very limited technological expertise (and my limited download) wonāt allow me to do that, so you will have to imagine their greeting to you.
Have a very happy weekend, filled with happy times with family and friends, and a little āyouā time.
A quote from my leadership journal today: āI am going downhill if my work is equal to my abilitiesā
I totally agree with that. I am sure we would all agree, as we look back on things we did years ago, that we have improved tremendously. In fact, there is sometimes just an inkling of shame as we consider past efforts.
I know I work much better when I am strongly challenged. I usually begin with the āI canāt do thisā approach, and sometimes it takes me forever to get started, but when completed, there is that added sense of achievement and satisfaction.
So, my friend, today my wish for you is that you will be challenged; that you will be forced to think outside the square; that you will tackle a job that needs doing; and most of all that you will later sit back with an enormous smile and a feeling of satisfaction and achievement.
Iāve been considering the motto on my desk calendar today: āA candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.ā
I agree with the saying, but I came to the conclusion that we are better off than candles. When we ālightā or encourage others, we lose nothing but, as distinct from the candle, we actually GAIN. I would even say that we cannot brighten anotherās day without brightening our own at the same time.
So Iād like to pass on to you a little brightness. You help to brighten my day when I āseeā you here, read your comments and blogs and sometimes have a little chat. Thank you for being you. You are special.
Please have a bright and cheerful coming week. Accomplish your desires and your goals. Make time to enjoy some āyouā time - and happy yuwie-ing!
