Yes and no. If we're going to have term limits, then it needs to be across the board. The problem is, it's not, so the states without term limits have more powerful congress men and women compared to their rookie counterparts, and inevitably get the lion's share of the pork for their state. I think you need at least 2 terms just to get your feet wet and know what you're doing. I would go for a 4 term limit, but like I said across the board, or it doesn't work.
That's why you shouldn't vote Democratic, because they talk a good story about going after the wealthy, trouble is they never do! They slip a fast one in the back door that hurts the middle class. I guess we'll all see for ourselves if he wins. I'll certainly hate to say I told you so halfway into his presidency.
Mitsy, I really do believe that Obama will be elected simply because he is a much more charismatic speaker than McCain is, and that is certainly a shame. I really believe that he doesn't have the capability to properly lead us for 4 years. You could look at the running mate that McCain chose and say the same thing about her, but I've seen it too many times where the Democrats canibalize the military and raise taxes to fund their welfare programs, and that is just wrong. We all need to stand our our own two feet, as most of us can and help ourselves. This is not a Socialist state that hands out everything equal to all its citizens, which doesn't really work that way even in Socialist countries by the way. There are real threats out there, that we better be prepared to deal with them.
That's good Mitsy, thanks for sharing that with me. Take care my dear, and please put your face back on the profile! I feel like I'm friends with a Mountain Dew can!
No, in fact I'm frequently wrong, that's what makes us human. But at least I know why I'm voting for John McCain and not Barak Obama! Hopefully, if you want to see a woman one heartbeat away from the presidency, you will too. Maybe a woman can fix this country, they certainly can't do any worse right?
I respect your opinion Mitsy, no matter how wrong it is! lol Just kidding. I have this sign on my office door, that I firmly believe in. It says, 'It was the Soldier, not the reporter who gave us freedom of the press.' 'It was the Soldier not the poet, who gave us freedom of speech.' 'It was the Soldier not the campus organizer, who gave us freedom to demonstrate.' It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.' 'Freedom isn't free, if not me, then who?'
The truth hurts sometimes Mitsy! Most Americans live in their own little worlds without a clue of the big world outside the United States, including me before I entered military service and saw firsthand the lies being fed to the American people by our media! My mother would tell me what the news and newspapers were putting out, and I'd have to tell her what was really happening. How many Americans have even been outside our borders? That alone would open a lot of eyes, and make each and every one of us really appreciate the freedoms we have here that most other countries do not. Do some hate us? Of course, they're jealous of what we have. Are we arrogant sometimes? Yes, most definitely, because that is instilled in us by the pride we have in this great country. I'm not voting for a preacher, I'm voting for a doer!
Believe me, I'm surrounded by Americans who were never veterans, and they are clueless, just like most Americans who believe what the liberal press feeds them on a daily basis. I can't blame them, because they haven't been there, done that as the saying goes. If you only knew what goes on behind the lines, it would make your hair stand on end. You would see just how much all of you are kept in the dark. By the way, I blame unions for the loss of jobs in this country, because they bleed their members dry by monthly dues, and do very little if anything for the membership. I know this because I was in a union, and I've dealt with unions at the management level. Unions at one time served a purpose, but now all they do is make it so our corporations can't compete, and have no choice but to seek cheaper labor overseas. So while we're all pointing fingers, look where the other four are pointing!
Day 11 - Simon had the day off, so we didn't have to take the subway anymore. Simon drove the rest of the week! This day we visited the Ontario Science Centre, where we had many things to see and do! A very interesting day for Vicki!
On our way back to Bolton, we stopped to see the Marble Hindu Temple and the Canadian Museum of Cultural Heritage of Indo-Canadians at the same location. All the marble and many scuplures were brought from India to build it!
