As a mature Christian you are no longer a child, tossed to and fro, easily deceived and following your own desires. Therefore, you no longer ought to be enslaved to the lusts of those who are blind to the things of God.
As you are of God, who is Light, you must walk in the light. You have consciously put off the old man that was corrupt with deceitful lusts, and become a new creation when you gave your life to Jesus.
In these last days many shall be lovers of their own selves and give in to their own lusts, even putting blame on God and others. Do not think that it’s all right as long as you’re not hurting others. The internet is rife with pornographic materials and many Christians are ensnared by them. You are hurtful to others as you are too busy doing unto yourself instead of doing unto your family, ministry and work. Your mind and emotions are preoccupied.
The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is on the things of God, your whole body reflects it. But, if your eye is focused on evil, your whole body is full of darkness. (Luke 11: 34) Jesus even admonished to pluck out your eye if it offends you, as it’s better to enter heaven with one eye than go to hell with two! Strong words!
Take heed; these are evil days, and time is short! All evil deeds shall be exposed. Flee youthful lusts; and follow righteousness, faith, charity and peace lest, instead of blessings, curses will overtake you. (Deut. 28: 45)
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh reaps corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” (Gal. 6: 7-8)
Grieve not the Holy Spirit, who lives in you! You are the temple of God, and God is holy.
Jesus Christ has paid the ransom for your sins. He no longer remembers your past sins; they have been paid for. Therefore, you need no longer be ashamed of your youth. Satanhas been defeated and exposed.
Be wise, therefore, and recognize that ungodly thoughts, emotions and desires are from the enemy. God has equipped you with His Word, Grace, and the Holy Spirit. You are fully empowered to walk in His blessings and be an overcomer.
God loves you and has a purpose for you. He is faithful and gives a way of escape; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your ability to overcome.
Jesus Christ himself suffered every temptation known to man. He feels your pain, weakness and shame. He is the Way out. In His Name you have direct access to God. Repent, and receive His mercy and grace, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. (Eph. 4: 23-24)
The greatest weapon is praise as it focuses totally on Him. God’s peace will keep your heart and mind as you stay focused on the Word and all things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. (Phil. 4: 7-8)
