Hijack

Webpage: http://www.hijackandlowdre.com
Location: Phoenixville, PA, USA
Descr i ption: Honest rock and roll.
Biography: Hijack - the movie.
Jack and Andre met in 1990 while working at the (now extinct) Bennigan's Restaurant in Springfield, PA. Andre was drumming and singing in the prog-influenced Sky Blue and Jack was (and still is) playing with his first band, The Bottom Line. They started collaborating and were soon recording a 4-song demo as Flesh Tuxedo with friend and engineer Drew Raison. Flesh gigged extensively in the Philly area for the next five years, with Andre fronting the band. There were several personnel changes, but the most stable and long standing recorded an EP in 1993 and a full-length album in 1994.

Jack and Andre continued writing but didn't formally play together again until 2000, when they formed Lowjack. The band gigged (with Andre behind the drums) a lot and released an EP in 2002, and had some momentum going before things derailed as the band was headed back into the studio.

Some of Lowjack's tracks found their way onto the home-recorded Planetary Missionary demo - the first project to bear the Hijack name and featured Andre and Jack as the sole performers. As soon as that was all wrapped up, Hijack started to write and record new songs and laid down the basic tracks for what became Illusions. Kris Ohrenick joined just in time to lay down the bass tracks on the CD, and Drew Raison once again took to the boards to mix and master the album. Pre-production is in progress for the band's follow up album.
